sex robots designed to look like children There should be a ban on the import of sex robots designed to look like children, the author of a new report into the phenomenon has said. Prof Noel Sharkey said that society as a whole needed to consider the impact of all types of sex robots. His Foundation for Responsible Robotics has conducted a consultation on the issue. Only a handful of companies were currently making sex robots, said Prof Sharkey. But, he added, the upcoming robot revolution could change that. The report, Our Sexual Future With Robots, was written to focus attention on an issue barely discussed at the moment, he said. The report acknowledged that finding out how many people actually owned such robots was difficult because the companies that made them did not release the numbers. But, said Prof Sharkey, it was time society woke up to a possible future where humans and robots had sex. "We do need policymakers to look at it and the general public to decide what is acce...

The event was organized by No Peace Until Justice at Ottawa's Parliament's Peace Tower, and comes in the wake of the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man who died in Minneapolis police custody last week. Floyd's death has led to dozens of protests in the U.S. and around the world Trudeau's attendance shows a stark contrast between him and President Trump who has called for law enforcement to take aggressive measures against protesters. When asked earlier this week about Trump's threats to call in the military to respond to U.S. protesters Trudeau notably took a 20 second pause before saying that Canada was watching in "horror and consternation." Russian president Vladimir Putin has said Donald Trump's impeachment is far-fetched and predicts the U.S. Senate will reject it “The party that lost the (2016) election is continuing the fight by other means,” Putin said. He likened Trump’s impeachment to the earlier U.S. probe into collusion with Russia, which Putin downplayed as being groundless. Putin noted that the impeachment motion “is yet to pass the Senate where the Republicans have a majority.” He added that “they will be unlikely to remove a representative of their own party from office on what seems to me an absolutely far-fetched reason.” Trump was impeached by the U.S. House of Representatives, becoming only the third American chief executive to be formally charged under the Constitution’s ultimate remedy for high crimes and misdemeanors. The historic vote split along party lines Wednesday night in the U.S., much the way it has divided the nation, over a charge that the 45th president abused the power of his office by ...
