The first human case of “H5” type bird flu has been found in Britain, health officials have confirmed, as they warned people not to touch sick or dead birds  UK Health Security Agency has said. A rare case of bird-to-human transmission of bird flu, known as the Avian Influenza, has been detected in the South West of England,  BRIT is being treated for deadly bird flu in a UK first. The disease  also known as avian flu is often found in poultry and wild fowl but rarely spreads to humans. Until now, there have been no documented cases of the particular strain in Britain. According to the World Health Organisation Lab tests show the man is infected with an H5 strain of bird flu, most likely the H5N1 type. Emergency:-Chemical leak at Leicester food manufacturer sees casualties taken to hospital. leak broke out shortly before 8:30am this morning at Bradgate Bakery in the Beaumont Leys area of the city. Emergency crews from Leicestershire Fire and Rescue, East Midlands Ambulance Service and Leicestershire Police were all dispatched to the scene. A fire service spokesperson said The small gas cloud caused by the leak has been safely dispersed and there are no further chemical leaks. Neighbouring residents were ordered to keep their windows and doors shut while emergency services dealt with the leak. Chemical support vehicles were dispatched to help with all staff from the bakery safely evacuated.The fire service has confirmed that 23 people were treated at the scene for gas inhalation with several taken to hospital.

Large police cordon in place after a women's body was found in the early hours of the morning.Police were called to the park on Green Drive at 5.56am on Saturday  A crime scene is in place in Southall Park after the discovery of an unresponsive woman in her 30s. Met Police say they were called to the park on Green Drive. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing.  The victim had sustained multiple serious injuries to his body.
