A New 194,747 cases of Covid-19 have been reported across the UK. A new 334 people have died in the UK within 28 days of a positive test, which includes some delayed reporting for England, taking the total to 149,284. total 222,824 Covid booster and third dose vaccinations have taken place in the UK, taking the total number administered to 34.5 million.

A total of 15,659 patients are in hospital with Covid in England, up 49% week-on-week and the highest level since 17 February 2021.

UK Health Security Agency said People in England without coronavirus symptoms who have a positive lateral flow test will no longer need a confirmatory PCR test from January 11th
