A massive earthquake of 6.4 magnitude hit Assam


A massive earthquake of 6.4 magnitude hit Assam on Wednesday morning, causing widespread damage in the Northeastern state.Tremors were felt in the entire region, including neighbouring Meghalaya and northern parts of West Bengal.

A 6.4-magnitude earthquake hits Assam in northeast India US Geological Survey says the quake hit at a relatively shallow depth of 29 kilometres 18 miles adding there was a low likelihood of casualties .
