A cyclone warning will be issued for parts of Odisha and West Bengal coasts


A cyclone warning will be issued for parts of Odisha and West Bengal coasts It has intensified into a cyclonic storm, and will turn severe. Most likely to cross Odisha West Bengal coast around noon May 26th between Paradip and Sagar islands, windspeed of 155-165 kmph.

Official said We are prepared to face any challenge posed by cyclone Yaas in the Balasore parliamentary constituency and the district. Government urge people to be aware, but don’t panic.Yaas had rapidly intensified to strengthen into a Category 1 tropical cyclone over the coasts of Baleshwar, NE Odisha.

A cyclone warning will be issued for parts of Odisha and West Bengal coasts overnight  impact may be lesser but cyclone Yaas could engulf more states such as Jharkhand and Bihar with bountiful rainfall. It could cause less damage to West Bengal as it is veering towards interior Odisha and heading for Jharkhand. 

over Bay of Bengal intensified into Cyclonic Storm Yaas and is very likely to intensify further into a Severe Cyclonic Storm during next 24 hours. It is very likely to cross north Odisha-West Bengal coasts between Paradip and Sagar islands around noon of 26th May. 

Cyclone Yass is currently aiming at India’s coast.Yaas is forecasted to bring extensive rains and flooding to areas inland, as well as damaging surge to coastal areas.
