A warning is issued for people in the Atlanta area after a radar-confirmed tornado touches down and moves toward the city. 
a tornado is moving directly for downtown Atlanta.If you are in the city, seek shelter now If you know someone in the metro, call them now and tell them to head underground.This tornado is lofting debris and is on the ground.  

watch is still in effect for the entire metro-Atlanta area as well as much of west-central Georgia and portions of eastern Alabama until 4 p.m. ET, meaning more tornadic storms are possible.

The plane had 5 people on board including the crew and a patient. The plane landed on a foam carpet which prevented it from catching fire. A full emergency was declared for a non-scheduled Beechcraft VT-JIL aircraft on route from Nagpur to Mumbai.
