A police officer has been shot in Daytona Beach Florida 

A police officer has been shot in Daytona Beach, Florida and has been rushed to a hospital. Avoid Beach Street as there is a large police presence and closures.

Police say the officers last radio transmission was that he was investigating suspicious activity. The officer stopped responding to officers and dispatch on the radio, so other units responded and found the officer lying down wounded.

The officer is in critical condition, and several agencies are involved in a manhunt for the suspect.Police offering a $100,000 reward to those who give information leading to the arrest of the suspect who shot the officer. 


Over 500 police officers helping in the search for the gunman who has been identified as 29-year-old Othal Wallace. The entire county is on lockdown.The officer shot is in grave condition, meaning he is NOT expected to recover if they cannot stabilize his condition very soon The officer was shot one time in the head.
