Arvada Police Department Deputy Chief Ed Brady says an Arvada officer responded to a call of a suspicious incident near the Arvada Library. Just after 1:30 p.m. they received 911 calls that an Arvada officer had been hit by gunfire.The officer was killed.
He was a veteran officer with the department. They are not releasing his name pending family notification.Another person was taken to the hospital believed to be the gunman. This person is dead.
Another person, believed to be a "Samaritan" is also dead.In total, three people died in the shooting. The department will provide more information at a later time, most likely not until Tuesday morning.
