At least 11 people killed after a building collapsed on another structure in Mumbai

At least 11 people eight children and three adults were killed and seven others injured after a single-storey house collapsed on another structure in the Malwani area of Mumbai, a civic official said on Thursday.

A residential structure collapsed on a building nearby following heavy monsoon rains at a slum in Malavani area of Malad in western suburbs of Mumbai late on Wednesday, killing at least 11 people and injuring seven others

Search and rescue operation continues in New Collector compound, Malad West, where a residential structure collapsed last night. 11 people died, 7 injured.


The incident took place around 11.15 pm on Wednesday at the New Collector Compound on Abdul Hamid Road in the Malwani area.

Mumbai Police to register case under Section 304 (2) of the IPC against the owner of structure that collapsed and the contractor. They had recently made some structural changes after cyclone Tauktae Vishwas Nangre Patil, Jt CP Law and Order
