At least five POWERFUL earthquakes were reported in coast of Oregon

Magnitude-5.9 earthquake struck off the coast of Oregon early Friday, and aftershocks included another 5.9 quake USGS says no threat of a tsunami or damage to the coast.

FIVE earthquakes, three of which were above M4.0, occurred off the Oregon coast last night, with two M5.9 quakes felt around 1:00 AM. No tsunami threats were recorded.

A second one 30 minutes later USGS have 5.9 for both. 2 looks a little bigger to me but you need to average over many stations to get a  magnitude estimate.

These earthquakes were located in the "Blanco Fracture Zone" Earthquakes are very common in the region although two M 5.9 quakes are not. As always, we never know when a quake will occur.
