The DeltaVariant (B.1.617.2) of Covid-19 that first surfaced in India has now a new mutated sublineage version called AY.1 or DeltaPlus one that is possibly capable of resisting even the monoclonal antibodies cocktail currently prescribed.

Maharashtra the State Health Minister Rajesh Tope said Out of twenty one cases of Delta plus variant detected in Maharashtra, NINE are from Ratnagiri and seven from Jalgaon, TWO from Mumbai, and one each from Palghar, Thane and Sindhudurg. We are ascertaining their vaccination status and travel history

At least three cases of SARS-CoV-2 deltaplus variant have been found in samples collected from Kerala's Palakkad and Pathanamthitta districts
