Man who slapped French President sentenced to 18 months in prison

A French court has sentenced the man who slapped President Emmanuel Macron across the face to 18 months in prison for assault against a public official. The man claimed to be a right-wing sympathizer who believed Macron "stood for all that was rotten with France"

A man as he approached him to shake his hand during a trip in southeast France Emmanuel Macron has been slapped in the face by a man during a trip to southeast France.

Reports have indicated two have been arrested by French law enforcement in relation to the incident.Traveling in the Drôme on Tuesday as part of his tour of France of the territories, Emmanuel Macron was violently slapped.two people were arrested.
