A powerful tornado ripped through eastern Pennsylvania injuring at least five people and leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. 

A tornado touched down in Pennsylvania , damaging homes, toppling trees and knocking out power, officials say. At least four injuries were reported in Pennsylvania, where a dozen homes were damaged.

Officials in the nearby village of Pennsylvania said a tornado touched down and a damage assessment was underway. There were reports of significant injuries in the community, but people were urged to avoid the area
