New 31,772 cases of Covid-19 have been reported across the UK in the last 24 hour


New 31,772 cases of Covid-19 have been reported across the UK in the latest 24 hour period. 26 people have died within 28 days of testing positive, taking the total to 128,425.

Total 305,209 Covid vaccinations have been reported across the UK. More than 45.8 million people 87.1% of adults have now had at least one dose. More than 34.7 million 66% of adults have had two doses.

Delta is more transmissible and seems to cause more illness and death. The later may simply because more deaths will occur when many more people are infected. We will see when full data are out. But, more importantly, vaccines are effective against Delta
