Death toll from devastating floods in central China's Henan Province hits 302



More 302 people have been killed and over 50 others remaining missing in central China's Henan Province due to heavy rainfalls since July 16,  local authorities said on Monday in a press conference.

According to preliminary statistics, since July 16, as of 12:00 on the 25th, this round of heavy rainfall caused 303 deaths and 5 missing in Henan Province. The province has evacuated 861,900 people in emergency, and the current emergency resettlement population is 852,000, and 296,000 people are in need of emergency living assistance the area affected by crops is 876.6 thousand hectares, and there are 24,474 collapsed houses in 8,876 households.

china has sent about 46,000 PLA Personnel and the People's Armed Police Force as well as about 61,000 militia members to Henan for flood control and emergency rescue, the Ministry of Emergency Management and the Ministry of Water Resources said.

State Council decided to set up an investigation team over heavy rainfall in Zhengzhou, central China's Henan Province.
