Mexico resort city of Acapulco hit by powerful 7.0-magnitude earthquake 

A strong earthquake magnitude 7.0 struck near the Mexico resort city of Acapulco Tuesday, according to the USGS. The shaking was felt in MexicoCity, more than 200 miles away.

The earthquake struck southwestern Mexico near the beach resort of Acapulco on Tuesday night, causing rock falls and damaging buildings, though there were no immediate reports of casualties. 


Television channel records the moment when earthquake hits the capital of Mexico. Experts associate these lights in the sky with the energy charge released during the earthquake.
