Australia reports 4,565 new coronavirus cases, the biggest one-day increase on record. PM Scott Morrison rules out new Covid lockdowns despite rising cases and Omicron fears National Cabinet has been provided with advice that in late January Australia could record 200,000 covid cases a day, 4000 hospitalizations a day, and a peak of 10,000 people in ICU. They believe severity will be the same as delta.
