Helicopter crashes in Tamil Nadu, CDS Gen Bipin Rawat was on board


Defense Minister of India, Rajnath Singh has reached and Senior Indian Military officers have started arriving at the residence of General BipinRawat. 

A total of 14 people including Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, his wife, Defence Assistant, security commandos and IAF pilots were on board the chopper 

CDS Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, his staff and some family members were in the Mi-series chopper that crashed between Coimbatore and Sulur in Tamil Nadu. Search and rescue operations launched from nearby bases. 

Indian air force said An IAF Mi-17V5 helicopter, with CDS General Bipin Rawat on board, met with an accident today near Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. An Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident
