Mysterious 1,200 years old Mummy found in tomb in Peru with hands covering its face

Archaeologists in Peru found a mummy tied with ropes in fetal position surrounded by various offering materials in the archaeological complex of Cajamarquilla, located east of Lima. The body reportedly belongs to a man and dates back to pre-Inca times.

Archaeologists in Peru have unveiled a mummy discovered late this year, that they believe could be up to 1,200 years old.

1,200 years old Mummy went on display on Tuesday at the San Marcos University in Lima after archaeologists reported finding the remains in an underground tomb in November.

The mummified remains, which were bound by ropes and had the hands covering the face, were found inside an underground structure outside Lima along with offerings including ceramics, vegetable remains and stone tools.
