Experts say you can protect yourself from the omicron coronavirus variant by doing the same things done to protect from any other variant: get vaccinated, wear a mask and avoid crowds.
Reports from South Africa continue to indicate that the omicron variant is having mild effect on people. Fingers crossed this continues to be the case - it could turn out to be the end of the pandemic globally if a mild but dominant strain takes over.
