Tsunami Warning for island of Tonga
following the eruption of Hunga - Tonga- Hunga-Ha'apai Volcano. The volcano been erupting for weeks now, but this is the most significant eruption.

An ongoing eruption of a volcano in Tonga is generating small tsunami waves as shown in the tide record below.



Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issues Tsunami advisory for American Samoa says a hazardous tsunami has been generated by volcanic activity in Tonga.

Australia meteorology said No tsunami threat to Australia from volcanic eruption near Tonga island. A 1.2 metre tsunami wave has been obsereved at Nuku Alofa in Tonga at 3:30 PM AEDT. We will continue to monitor the situation.

Newzealand national emergency management Agency said after following the Tongan eruption. We expect New Zealand coastal areas on the north and east coast of the North Island and the Chatham Islands to experience strong and unusual currents and unpredictable surges at the shore.
