Magnitude 6.6 earthquake strikes northern Qinghai, China 


A magnitude 6.6 earthquake took place 112km SW of Jinchang, China at 17:45 UTC It's depth was 10km and was reported by GFZ.

More then 8000 people are estimated to have felt strong shaking, 1 376 000 moderate, and 19 043 000 light.The USGS issued a Green alert for shaking-related fatalities. There is a low likelihood of casualties.

An Orange alert was issued for economic losses. Significant damage is likely and the disaster is potentially widespread. Estimated economic losses are less than 1% of the GDP of China. Past events with this alert  have required a regional or national level response

Strong earthquake strikes off China but no tsunami warning is issued, China authorities say, with no immediate reports of damage . There is no tsunami threat to the coastal following the earthquake that hit the northern northern
