UK records 141,472 new COVID-19 cases, 97 deaths in last 24 hours



UK reported another 141,472 coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 14,475,192. 

Meanwhile, the country reported a further 97 COVID-related deaths, bringing the total number of coronavirus-related deaths in the UK to 150,154.

The UK Health Security Agency says the latest data shows COVID booster doses are continuing to provide high levels of protection against severe disease from the Omicron variant among older adults

The UK Health Security Agency says data shows that three months after receiving a COVID booster jab protection against hospitalisation among those aged 65 and over remains at about 90%

A new 106,122 cases of Covid-19 have been reported across the UK in the latest 24 hour period, more than 15,000 more than yesterday and a new daily record. Totally 140 people have died in the UK within 28 days of a positive test. The plane had 5 people on board including the crew and a patient. The plane landed on a foam carpet which prevented it from catching fire. A full emergency was declared for a non-scheduled Beechcraft VT-JIL aircraft on route from Nagpur to Mumbai. The flight carrying 02 crew member, 01 patient, 01 relative and 01 doctor did a belly-landing at Mumbai Airport. All passengers were evacuated safely.
