Iraq declares nationwide curfew until further notice amid clashes.


Iraqi Joint Operations Command has declared a total curfew in capital Baghdad.Casualties were reported after supporters of Iraq's Shi'ite Muslim cleric Moqtada al-Sadr clashed with supporters of Iran-backed groups in Baghdad.

reporters said that gunfire was heard in Baghdad as Iran-aligned gunmen fired bullets into the air.

At least 25 protesters have been wounded during clashes with security forces in Iraq’s GreenZone in Baghdad, AlHadath says.Militia groups are firing live ammunition, killing two protesters, as Sadr's supporters are throwing stones in response.

Iraqi President Barham Salih calls on demonstrators to withdraw from all government institutions, adding that "disrupting state institutions is a dangerous matter" 

US officials are being airlifted from the embassy out of the Green Zone, Baghdad Iraq.Baghdad is plunging into more instability
