Mystery Respiratory Illness In Argentina Prompts Investigation After 4 People Die



Mystery pneumonia of unknown origin kills four and infects ten in Argentina.

Argentina investigating outbreak of mysterious pneumonia of unknown origin. 11 people have been infected, 8 being medical staff at local clinic. 4 have died since Monday including a doctor, a nurse, and the original patient carrying the illness.

Argentina reports 4th death from outbreak of unidentified illness The fourth death is a 48-year-old man who had been in serious condition for a while, according to the health ministry. He’s believed to be a healthcare worker at the clinic.

An additional case of the mystery illness has been reported in Tucuman Argentina.A 64-year old male in serious condition who is hospitalized and on a ventilator. This increases the total number of cases to 11.

Unidentified pneumonia, Argentina Ensuring adequate infection control in all health care settings globally must be a priority in pandemic preparedness. The next big one will likely present to a healthcare setting, which risks becoming an amplifying event
