Two killed after passenger plane heading to Kenyan tourist resort collides with training aircraft



Tragedy struck near Nairobi-Wilson Airport in Kenya as a SafariLink DHC-8-300 aircraft, registered as 5Y-SLK and built in 2001, was involved in a mid-air collision with a lighter Cessna 172 belonging to 99 Flying School. The incident occurred shortly after take-off, sending shockwaves through the aviation community.


Flight F253, bound for Diani with 44 passengers on board, was able to execute an emergency landing following the collision. Miraculously, all passengers and crew survived the ordeal. However, the Cessna 172 lost control and crashed, resulting in the tragic loss of both occupants.
